Embarkation was a breeze especially since the ship was in port overnight.
Liked our cabin, especially the bathroom. There is never enough storage but Viking has tried to include more than other lines.
A few days into the trip we asked for a pad over the mattress because the mattress needed to be softer for us....it was brought immediately....our cabin attendant, Fery, is the best!!
Good location....middle if ship so felt less motion. Roomy enough...we were able to unpack most of our belongings...no complaints about storage space. Room under beds for luggage which helped. Room was in good condition...had a few problems that Fery got fixed very quickly. Did find a cruise card from a previous cruise under a chair seat? Loved the bathroom....Viking really has it here with the roomy showers and heated floor! Didn't use the deck much...BRRR. But was nice to open in ports. All in all a comfy place to recharge, change clothes and have an occasional room service.
Took the ships tour to Vidar hoping to see puffins....did from a distance. Fortunately others with better cameras got good pictures of them...even with fish in the mouth!! Toured what was a farm, had a tasty snack and learned about eiderdown....the hearing devices really helped!
We rented a taxi in this port...not easy to do...no taxis at the port or in the street. Finally went into a hotel and they called on for us. Not much in the city. The most interesting part for us was a church surrounded by hills of a grave yard, meticulously maintained. Also enjoyed some views of the water area and information about the islands around the port city, but it was overcast...as we were told it usually is. Ended going to a huge Farmers market and ate ice cream!
Long walk down hill...not good for senior knees!!
Bike in good shape
