Embarkation was very smooth and we were on ship within 20 minutes of arriving at the port. Our cabin C212 was ready for us and luggage arrived very soon.

Anyone using this cabin in future should note that although the theatre is on deck 6 and 7 the sound travels all the way to deck 10 where we heard every rehearsal and every show very loudly. You would have thought that perhaps they could have put some kind of sound baffle in between decks but I guess not.

Our cabin steward was very good and our wait staff in the MDR were wonderful. The food in both MDR and buffet was up to the usual standard.

Cabin IE

Although this cabin is on deck 10 we could hear rehearsals and shows in theatre very loudly. The theatre is on deck 6 and 7 and we thought we would not be bothered by this. Boy, were we wrong!

Port Reviews

Copenhagen

The ship was docked quite far out of Copenhagen.

Stockholm

This was advertised as Stockholm but was in fact an hour away in Nynashamn . Wasn't impressed by it. There was nothing of interest there. We would have taken a train into Stockholm if we had known it was so boring.

Helsinki

This is a lovely port. We simply got a map from the tourist booth at the port and walked around. Thoroughly enjoyed this port.

St. Petersburg

We took an excursion with cruisingexcursions.com. This was much cheaper than Princess and we visited the underground, the Catherine Palace, peterhoff Gardens, Hermittage Museum, Church of the Spilled Blood, Peter and Paul Fort and went on a hydrofoil. This tour was half the price of the Princess equivalent and a visa was included.

Tallinn

Just walked off the ship to visit the old town. A beautiful place!

Berlin

This was not Berlin but Warnemunde which is 3 hours from Berlin. We felt it was too long a journey so we stayed in the port and we are so glad we did as it was a lovely place. The people who went to Berlin were exhausted on their return.

Oslo

This was another lovely place where it was possible to just get off the boat and wander around. Very nice.
