I enjoyed my cruise on the Celebrity Summit to Bermuda. I have cruised many times to Bermuda on different lines and I have cruised to extensively on all the major brands to many destinations. The last time I cruised with Celebrity was in 2001 so it was nice to return.
Of course nothing stays the same and unfortunately some things that I loved about Celebrity has changed. Gone are pianos and harps playing instead DJs are playing in the main lobby. This kind of takes away from the elegance of it all. I am in my late thirties so I am guessing Celebrity is trying to appeal to people younger than I? They just seem like they can’t find their target audience.
In any case, the Summit looks great after her renovation. I loved the interior design and the look of the staterooms. The only place they didn’t renovate was Cellar Masters and Sushi on 5. All in all she looks fairly new. The food was good to average as was service. The buffet restaurant flowed well and had a great selection of food. Embarkation was easy as was the departure. Entertainment seemed plentiful and while the shows were good the performers were excellent. The captain and his officers were very visible and courteous. This was my 10th time visiting Bermuda and it never disappoints. In my opinion, it is one of the best islands that offer some of the best beaches. Simply put, Bermuda is beautiful and I could have stayed a few more days!
This cabin had an extra-large balcony note noted on the deck plans. It is over the showroom but I did not hear any noise. Was a very quiet room.
