We chose this cruise for the itinerary and timing within the year so that 14 of us could take a family trip. (Parents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends). The Viking reservation and airfare staff were wonderful in helping us to coordinate such a large group trip. Besides the great excursions, scenic sailing, and wonderful food, it was the ship’s staff that truly made this experience the trip of a lifetime. Everyone knew we were a large group and went out of their way to accommodate us for meals together and to keep us together for the various excursions. The system for shore excursions is so well organized. The hearing devices for the tour worked well so that you could hear the tour guide without having to be right next to them. In other words, you could wonder off a bit taking photos but still hear the guide.

We can’t say enough about the staff. The dining staff knew our likes and dislikes almost within the first day. Thank you to our waiters Viktor, Sarah, and Miroslav for great dining experiences. They were so great during our first meal that we made sure to sit in their section for lunch and dinner the rest of the trip! Sasha took care of our room meticulously. By the time we came back from breakfast, the room would be cleaned and the bed made. Korana went out of her way to help me shop on another Viking ship that had different clothing and she offered to gift wrap a necklace I purchased as well. Ivana, the Hotel Manager, always had a smile greeting us as we got back from our excursions. She answered guests questions and kept everything in excellent order. Boris, the Program Director, provided insight and information about our upcoming experiences, and he did this with great enthusiasm and lots of humor. Emil, the Maitre D, made sure the meal and beverage services were top notch. Lagos, the Captain, provided a detailed tour of the bridge and how he navigates the ship with such great skill. We would definitely go again on a Viking River cruise and would hope to see the same wonderful staff!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom with French Balcony

Cabin C

The cabin and bathroom were larger that some ocean cruise ships we’ve been on. It was clean and the layout worked well. There was lots of space for unpacking our clothes and the suitcases easily fit under the bed. The only downside to this room was that it sounded at times like there was a water park flowing overhead. As the cruise went on, we got accustomed to this water noise. The room was otherwise quiet. We never heard the lobby or the other rooms next door.
