I chose the Norwegian Pearl because my wife and daughter had previously cruised on it before. Although, there had been an outbreak of the Norovirus on the previous cruise, the crew did an excellent accommodating everyone and making the necessary adjustments to prevent any further illnesses. I read some of the reviews and you would think the people were on a different cruise. Highlights were the itinerary (loved Amsterdam, stops in Bergen, Flam & Geiranger, Norway & Bruges, the staff & the specialty restaurants especially Le Bistro and Cagneys where had excellent dinners. We experienced zero problems communicating with staff; everyone from our room steward, many food and drink servers and dining room staff and waiters were great. A good morning, afternoon or evening greeting plus a smile was always returned with the same. Never did we experience any rudeness.

We enjoyed the variety of the nightly entertainment as well as the daily entertainers in the atrium and various lounges especially Magnum's Champagne & Wine Bar .

Maybe some of the critics should try it once a while and leave there attitude of entitlement back in their homeland but there are some folks that are unhappy before they get on the cruise and nothing is going to make them happy. We avoid those travelers and surround ourselves with upbeat friendly travelers of which there were many.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MA

Our cabin was perfect; plenty of space for my wife and I. I loved having a bath tub where I could soak after a day of lots of walking! Our room steward and the assistants were very attentive. Was so beautiful watching fjords from our balcony as we cruised through Norway!

Port Reviews

Edinburgh (South Queensferry)

Took the Hop On Hop Off bus and had a picnic in the park!

Invergordon (Inverness)

Took the local bus into Inverness and did our own walking tour with a great lunch at Hootananny's Pub!

Bergen

Did our own City walking tour and enjoyed the Fish market and a beer at an outdoor restaurant!

Flam

Did our own hike enjoying the local sites!

Geiranger

Did our own walking hike through a easy trail by the church and the cemetery, the waterfalls and back to the port shops. Weather was awesome!

Belfast

Took the Hop On Hop Off bus; visited the St. George's indoor market and went to Titantic Memorial museum - both worth seeing!

Dublin

First visited the historic City Hall, then took the Hop On Hop Off Bus which provided a great historical tour; w got off at the Guinness Storehouse and spend a few hours there, finishing off the tour with our own pint! Later enjoyed a great meal at O'Neill's

Le Havre

Took local transportation & enjoyed a wonderful day seeing Le Havre local churches, markets and the beach!

London (Greenwich, Tower Bridge, Tilbury)

Took the Gravesend–Tilbury passenger ferry across the River Thames east of London. It is the last public crossing point before the Thames reaches the sea. We then walked throughout Gravesend taking in the local sights & enjoyed a great meal at the Three Daws pub before boarding the ferry back to the ship.

Brugge (Bruges)

Took the bus from the port to Bruges and did our own walking tour to the Market Center taking in the historic local sights. Had some awesome Belgium waffles & chocolate; visited the Wall of Beer and relaxed on the Canal Boat Tour before heading back to the port!

Amsterdam

Thoroughly enjoyed the Rijks Museum and the emotional somber visit to the Anne Frank House!
