Cabin: AquaClass Stateroom with Veranda

We chose this cruise to go on the new ship and have quite a few days at sea. Everything about it was near perfect. Embarkation was very quick in Ft Lauderdale, about 15 minutes after we arrived at the terminal. We were allowed to go to our staterooms fairly quickly (the attendant was still working in ours but we dumped our bags and went to have lunch).

We loved the aqua class stateroom with the infinity balcony; wonderful to be on a brand new ship!

We mostly dined in Blu, the aqua class restaurant. We had fantastic service. always got our same great waiters and generally our same table for 4. We thoroughly enjoyed the quality of the food and smaller portions of healthier food, but we never went hungry. We don't usually do sit-down breakfast dining on cruises but did several times on this ship due to the quality and prompt service. Lunches and breakfasts were good in the Oceanview cafe with nice variety; loved the pizza too! We did the Steakhouse specialty dining (good but not much better than what we got in Blu) and the rooftop grill (fun and plenty of food; nice to be outdoors when it is not windy and cool, which it was many nights on a transatlantic).

Cabin Review

AquaClass Stateroom with Veranda

Cabin A2

We loved the stateroom with the infinity balcony, the comfort of the bed, the spacious bathroom, large shower, large sink and the lighting. We loved having the extra space with the infinity balcony and never closed the interior glass doors. Only a few minor complaints about the room: the bathroom mirror is heated so it does not fog up but you can't shut it off so it always feels too warm when you are close to the mirror to shave or put on makeup; drainage design of the bathroom is not great as water backs up out of the shower into the slotted drain behind the toilet sometimes; and lastly can only set the cooling down to 66 and we like it colder than that at night. If you open the balcony window in cooler climates to cool off the room, it heats it back up to 66. Other than that, we loved the room, the storage and the ambiance. Good power outlets and fun lighting controls. The stateroom attendant service was good but not overly friendly.

Port Reviews

Lisbon

We had been to Lisbon for 3 days previously, so we did our own thing and booked a gastronomic tour (Airbnb experience) which was great.

Bilbao

Loved the city. We booked Guggenheim tickets well in advance, so took the cruise shuttle bus into the city and easily did the museum in 2 hours right at 10 when it opened. We then took the funicular up the hill to a great overlook, then came back down and walked along the river to old town for tapas and vino. We want to come back and spend at least 3 or 4 days in the future to explore more.
