My mom treated my sister, my daughter and myself to a 7 day cruise- Europe's Rivers & Castles. We ranged from 76 years young to 14 years old. While my daughter was the youngest on the cruise she still had an amazing experience. We arrived 4 days before the ship set sail. We stayed in Nuremburg, rented a car to explore Bayreuth, Rothenburg and Nuremburg on our own. We took a taxi to the dock. From when we were greeted dockside until we were escorted to the airport at the end of our trip we received amazing service. The staff was excellent: they remembered what we liked to drink in the morning, what we liked to eat or what we were allergic to and were very quick to make sure our trip was enjoyable. The cruise director/manager made sure that our tours in each port were well organized. There were a variety of options from sedate to adventurous each day. You could sleep in and cruise with the ship. You could get up early and work out with their wellness coach. You could ride bikes from port to port, climb hills to see castles or tour the city/town with a knowledgeable guide. Our favorite tour was to the Residenze Palace in Wurtzburg- stunning inside and out. Enjoyed extra time at end of tour to look around Wurtzburg on our own. One night a lock was broken so we could not travel as originally planned. The captain and cruise director were able to adjust our schedule and still allow us to cruise along the Rhine Gorge to see all of the castles during day light hours. I was very impressed with their ability to adjust and adapt with minimal disruption to the passengers. The food was delicious with the morning pastries and lunch time homemade ice cream being a favorite. The Chef's Table was phenomenal and a must on this cruise. We has so much fun that we are planning our next cruise.

Cabin Review

Stateroom with French Balcony

Cabin A

Cabin was well appointed with staff making beds and cleaning while we were at breakfast and turning down beds and closing curtains while we were a dinner. We loved the ability to open the slider for the French Balcony to allow a breeze and look out at passing scenery. The twin beds were small, but had comfortable pillows. The shower had amazing water pressure and while small, as expected on a ship, was very enjoyable. Towels were plentiful and thick. We had plenty of closet space for hanging clothes and placing folded clothes. We used the drawers in desk and night stands for personal objects. Had multiple outlets throughout cabin. There was an extension cord for 3 European plugs in the cabin. We brought 5 port USB charger with European adaptor that we plugged into at nightstand outlet which allowed us to charge iPads, phones, etc... without difficulty. We had also brought a small pop up laundry basket which we stowed in cabin closet to control dirty clothes on cruise. Loved the position of the cabin at the front of the hallway. Made it very easy to get to Lounge and Dining Room.
