Second cruise with DCL. First was on the Dream in 2011. Have cruise plenty of other cruise lines in between our DCL cruises. Enjoyed our first trip on the Dream that we thought we'd try it again. This time with a 16 and a 14 year old.

We stayed in stateroom 6582. Goodluck was our stateroom attendant, and he was FANTASTIC. Our room was definitely showing it's age compared to when we first sailed when the Dream was brand new. But it was still a nice room overall. The lifeboats are directly below the balcony but it wasn't a big deal to us. No major complaints about this room. There was never much for noise. I was told you would be able to watch the fireworks from our balcony but why anyone would stay in their room for that is beyond me. So I cannot verify if that was true or not. Room had plenty of storage and space to move about in. Our teenagers are tall, the beds were fine but not ideal for their height. Our muster station was on deck 4, by the lifeboats, directly below our room.

Dining was average this time. Food was just "okay". Nothing special. Ordered a steak off the light menu and it was actually pretty bad. The rest of the meals were nothing spectacular. We had a table for just our family. Unfortunately the first night, the table next to us had let their toddlers go completely nuts. Coming to our table, wiping spit all over the mirrors behind them and just being obnoxious. Fortunately for us, we never saw them the rest of the cruise. One thing I learned after many cruises, although they are fun for the kids, the main dining rooms on DCL are just not our thing. We enjoy dining as a family and found we prefer the more open dining rooms on other cruise lines. We usually are seated by a window which is nice. DCL is very closed in, especially when its with tons of screaming, hungry children! For us, with older kids, we no longer care about the "themes" so something to consider if you have teens or are all adults. Unless you're just a Disney fan, then you'll probably not care about that as much. Our servers were great. No complaints whatsoever with them.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah

Cabin 04D

Not bad. Bed was comfortable. Bunks are best suited for kids, not teens or adults. So our teens weren't comfortable. Balcony was nice, lifeboats weren't an issue.

Port Reviews

Nassau

Nassau is run down. Do your research before you go. There isn't any worthwhile excursions to do with the short amount of time you are there. Avoid shopping in the port, it is not nearly as nice as other ports. The locals can be very pushy and aggressive to ANYONE in your group, regardless of age.

Castaway Cay

Excursions were canceled due to weather. But CC is still the best place on earth. Plenty to do for all ages. More then enough room for all to spread out so it seems very peaceful and tranquil.
