We chose this cruise because it was going out of NY and we wouldn't have to fly. The problem with this ship is the size and amount of people it holds. You could not do anything on this ship without reservations. I thought Norwegian was supposed to be freestyle cruising? It is definitely not! We were unable to get reservations to any of the specialty restaurants because they were all booked by the date of departure. Luckily we were able to book reservations to the shows in advance or we would not have been able to go. I have never been on a cruise like this before. I don't like the idea of having to plan out your whole trip before you even get there. There were plenty of times that we took our lunch to eat in our room because you couldn't get a table. This is really a let down for the price you pay to go on vacation. We had the drink package which was great until we actually wanted a drink. There were very few waiters so you had to go to the bar which was always so crowded you had substantial wait times. The pool area is a joke. Our son is 13 and the main pool is for adults only so that left us the kid pool which was packed with toddlers. You could never get a chair around any of the pools unless you wanted to sit in the shade. The whole thing was very disappointing.
