Suite Breakfast menu at Cagneys

We were very excited to be on this 14 night Buenos Aires to Santiago (via Cape Horn) sailing, and particularly pleased when our upgrade bid moved us from a Mini-Suite to a Forward Facing Penthouse with Balcony (SH). As there is lots of good information about this amazing itinerary, I will focus on the experience of being a suite guest.

As NCL embarkation was actually on the ship (because of port restrictions), there wasn't really any special treatment through this process, although we were in the first group through immigration and we were quickly checked in. Our room was already ready which was great and our bags arrived soon after (Room description below and photos attached).

We were able to go to Cagney's for lunch - and this was an option every day, along with every morning for breakfast. We didn't often go for lunch, as we prefer something pretty light if it is a sea day, so normally just grabbed some fruit and cheese from the Garden Cafe and ate in our room. But breakfast in Cagney's was one of the highlights of the suite perks. Breakfast included a buffet and the option of cooked dishes (which we indulged in occasionally) I have attached photos of the menu and pictures of the buffet. We loved starting the day with some peace and quiet, along with exceptional service, and also enjoyed the morning stroll from forward to aft in the crisp morning air. There was never more than 10 people at Cagney's, and by the end of the 14 days everyone was friends - passengers and staff alike.

Penthouse with Balcony

Cabin SG

This room was the smallest of the suites (as expected seeing though it was an upgrade bid), but I loved its location - forward facing and central. You nearly felt like you were the captain, that said you did have to close the curtains at night so the bridge wasn't disturbed by lights. The room itself was a good size for two people, but what impressed was the size of the bathroom and the size of the balcony. The bathroom had a full spa bath, a separate toilet, double sinks and 2 showers (one separate and one over the bath). This was adjoined by a dressing room with ample hanging space, and a sit down dressing table. There were so many drawers and cupboards, even on a 14 night cruise we couldn't come close to using them all. Bath products were lovely and in ample supply, and there were always plenty of towels. There were also bath robes and slippers. The main bed was very comfortable, pillow top bliss, although the pillows were too soft and it seemed a challenge to find us any alternatives. I wouldn't though like to have to sleep on the couch, which was very firm. The balcony was large, with 2 loungers, 2 chairs and a table; due to the cold and weather we didn't use it for long periods of time, but it was lovely to stand out there day or night and admire the view. Overall this was a great room for 2, but put 3 or 4 in here and it wouldn't be as comfortable.
