Good:
Interesting itinerary in Asia. Interesting mix of nationalities and personalities on cruise.
Cabin 9042 clean, pleasant, well located, efficient steward.and everything worked.
Reasonable size for a cruise cabin.
Large comfortable bed.
Washroom/shower better layout than average on other lines.
A fair walk to most dining venues but a good, quiet location with great views.
All the necessary equipment was there including choice of electric plugs and coffee machine (that could also be used for tea).
Recommend 9042 to all except those with limited mobility.
A tender port with slow disembarkation so missed planned excursion with local operator as not ashore until 11.45.
Small Thai town with limited facilities but at least a glimpse of the way that many Thais live.
Having read Lonely Planet advice we gave this one one a miss. When the excursions offered include a tuk-tuk ride (for 20 times the price of hiring direct) you know there's not too much going on. Beware overpriced NCL visas - arrange yours ahead if going here.
Coach to beach offered the alternative of a walk to get into an interesting little Thai town. Interesting to see a place with limited involvement in vietnam's rapid deevelopment so far (but not for much longer).
Overpriced excursions to Bangkok involved hours on coaches so we chose a local coach to Pattaya instead. Mass market holiday resort. Plenty to see, much of it enjoyable. We found warm sea and good food so Pattaya is probably what you make it.
A clean, vibrant and lively city with something for everyone.
The marina area (and evening supertree music) a real highlight.
Botanical gardens might sound dull to some but really interesting here.
Application system to bring prescribed medicines into the city worked well.
Taxis cheapish but metro also easy and a great way to get around.
