We chose this cruise because of it's ports of call.We arrived at 4pm on the Saturday . The ship was not sailing until the following evening. There was hardly anyone boarding at that time so we took our 2 large suitcases and 2 cabin bags with us, so had all our luggage in the room by 4.30. Very smooth Embarkation. We were in Concierge Class Room 7184 with balcony. The room was almost the same size as most ships of the same 2000 passenger size we have cruised on. There were though some minor issues. The wardrobe was not long enough to take my wife's long dresses without the bottom being on the floor. A Strange glass cabinet next door to the wardrobe with 4 shelves was useless. One major issue was the aircon which was to the side of the bed and was blowing on us all the time and could not be switched off. Here is a tip , we had some seloptape and put paper over it and then no problem. Our cabin was kept spotless by our steward and he could not do enough for us.

The ship had a full refurbishment just 2 weeks before the cruise and the lounges and bars were fresh with good new furniture. Overall the decor was excellent and clean.

I am Gluten Free so was a little apprehensive about eating. I had nothing to fear. All breakfasts and lunches in the self service cafes were marked , so it was easy for GF, Lactose Free, Vegetarian etc to find suitable dishes. GF Pizzas and Pasta were available There was even a Gluten free Bread Station. GF Cake and Ice cream Station. There was plenty of choice and food was good.

Port Reviews

Hanoi

We thought Halong Bay was superb

Hong Kong

The weather was good and we saw Hong Kong from the Peak . Also went to lots of other places. HK is well worth staying at for a 2-3 days
