The highlight of this cruise was definitely the food; however the entertainment and service are also a very positive aspect. We noticed some very positive characteristics of NCL (tried only Carnival and Royal Caribbean before): - the staff will always greet you / say hi if you are passing by. - the check-in process was super efficient (despite a big confusion upon boarding). - the cabin steward would make up the room twice a day - freestyle cruising is the best: you eat where you want, when you want and dressing what you want!

All the restaurants onboard the Getaway had impressive food quality and flawless service. We tried only one specialty (Moderno) and it was also incredible, the endless meet cooked to perfection and cut in front of you at your table is definitely a unique experience, if you go don't forget to try the cheese buns, simply warm, sticky and crunchy at the same time. We found Savour and Taste to be very similar but ended up going more to Taste as it's menu changes from night to night (definitely book ahead). O'Sheehan's was also great, with good options and one of the best hotdogs I ever had. The overall dinning experience on this ship was the best I ever had on a cruise. The staff is a show apart! We had a few senior with zero English knowledge who sometimes took longer to decide their order. Not a problem! Every day, the restaurant staff would go above and beyond to understand and make accommodations.

Another highlight of this vacation was the entertainment aboard. In the same time there was a duo singing in a bar; live band in the atrium; DJ in the disco; another DJ in the outdoor nightclub; duelling piano in the theatre. The options were endless and crafted to all tastes. We were on a diverse group with no children and everyone really enjoyed. Our cruise director, Paquito, was a bit loud in the parties, but funny. The asst. cruise director Joey was quite a character and fun too. We wanted to try the stand up comedy show as other fellow cruisers have enjoyed, but the options were so many we didn't have time.

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BC

Average size. I would recomend you chose the ones which has the sofa first and the bed close-by the window, why? The space between the closet and whatever is in front of it (sofa or bed) is super narrow, so if you have the sofa it is just easier to more around. The bathroom is one of the best I had while cruising. The balcony is indeed way smaller than average.

Port Reviews

Harvest Caye

Tourist traps everywhere. We went straight to the beach, as swimming pool we have at home. The beach was OK
