***Exclaimer***I’m realistic, so my opinions and review take that into account. That being said I don’t hand out excellent evaluations unless I feel it is absolutely deserved.
Our cruise was to celebrate our anniversary, we traveled without our children but with another couple who were on the lido deck. We originally booked a lower level balcony cabin but were offered an upgrade to a Spa balcony room. At first my wife was a little worried being that high up and so close to the bow of the ship. We were pleasantly surprised with this choice in cabins, my wife was not affected by any motion sickness, and the convenience of the Spa and Serenity deck was a definite plus.
Embarkation
Our cabin was exactly what we expected, our room was read the moment we got on the ship. Our steward was great, we didn’t ask too much of him, but he was very attentive when we needed.
We would book this deck again; the room was conveniently located to the lido deck mid ship pool and all of the action there. Very convenient to the Serenity Deck which was nice, we tried to take as much advantage of that area as we could. If I had one improvement to that it would be the ability to reserve a space in the Serenity Deck area, it seemed as if a lot of people would toss their things on a clam shell and be gone for hours. I know enforcing the”30 minute” rule is probably impossible, but if I was the gran poohbah, that would be something I would consider.
First time in New Orleans and we had a great time, even in the rain. Bourbon street was amazing and I am glad I was able to experience Mardi Gras at least once in my life, checked it off my bucket list.
We love Cozumel, we wanted to bring something memorable home, so we all got tattoos! Empire Tattoos was clean, well-staffed and half the price of my local shops. All of our tattoos came out great with only one error :) but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I got a tattoo in Mexico.
We rented a Jeep affectionately know as the “Heap”, but the engine started, and the brakes worked as long as you planned accordingly. When I asked if the blinkers worked the attendant said, “This is Mexico my friend, if it starts and it stops you doing good.” What could possibly go wrong :)
Good Food, Mariachis and a few Sol’s, Always a great time!
