First, the good...This is an EXCELLENT cabin. All balcony views unobstructed. Nice bed, fridge, big tv, nice desk and a surprisingly huge closet... And quiet! Sandwitched between 2 quiet areas...I slept like a baby! The check-in/out process was amazing, both at the embarkation and on the excursions. They know how to move the people well.
Now the bad...The food at the main dining rooms was just mediocre. Presentation was good but the meat, sauces and gravys were all tastless; except one meal...I think they dropped the salt shaker into the food. The buffet was ok, became bored with the same things everyday. Far too much lamb and east indian/asian cooking. The desserts looked amazing, tasted like crap. And, the ugly...We had 2 seperate incidents with rude staff. Felt ripped off with every "lecture" being a high pressure sales job. Real people cannot affort $17,000 necklaces!!!
Really needed some "beginners" training, not scheduled 2 hours long right at sailing time, maybe 3 or 4 short sessions over the first 2 or 3 days, to talk about issues as they develop. Where to go for help, how to get a coffee in the morning without paying 4.50 a cup, can we bring food to the rooms, can we bring food ashore, where can we smoke, what does "tender" look like, when I shop onshore what can't be brought back, where to go to buy an asprin...so many more questions...all the little things. Probably won't cruise again, maybe will try a European river cruise.
