Loyal Celebrity cruisers wanted to experience new ship! Husband using wheelchair on/off & during cruise.

Pros - From cruise terminal to room - 5 mins. Excellent service off ship to taxi. Generally, service from stateroom attendant, guest relations & most others - excellent. Food was mostly above average. Le Petite Chef restaurant was fun. Had Select Dining & never waited to be seated. Do not have cell phone but cabin controls easy & really didn't need one. Easy to order photos. Captain was hilarious. Lots of seating in the solarium.

Cons - Biggest issue was that ship generally not geared to seniors who are the largest number of guests. Some walkways carpeted and trying to push wheelchair was very difficult. There were many chairs in the various areas but most were very modern & did not have arms to help raise oneself. The Club which was used for some Captain's Club events was dark & dreary & not set up for easy conversation with others - we had to move furniture. Eden on 5 was also used for CC events & did not seem to have enough seating. The safety video was more silly than instructive. The solarium pool area was not monitored to ensure drinks & kids were kept out of the pool as directed by signage - guests had to step in. The front of the ship was closed off for Retreat guests so that we were not able to enjoy the usual view coming in to ports. No bingo!! The entertainment was a disappointment, particularly on the last night (weird). The stores were way too pricey for a cruise & the Celebrity bags provided in the room were very cheap compared to what is usually given. Infinity stateroom not worth the price. We would not sail the Edge class again and all of the CC guests we encountered said the same thing.

Cabin Review

Edge Veranda Stateroom

Cabin E3

Bed was near the closet giving more living area space. Kept balcony doors open most of the time. Would not choose infinite balcony again as view is so limited, better to have a real balcony. Bed is very comfortable with great linens. Very small closet - o.k. for 7-night cruise but might not do for longer cruises.

Port Reviews

San Juan

I planned to ride the free trolley as usual, to see what changes there were since I last visited. After waiting (with others) at the usual spot for an hour & no trolley in sight, I gave up & walked back to the ship.

Tortola

Got off the ship & walked around town.

St. Maarten

Stood in a long line in the hot sun for a water taxi. Waterfront area seems to have recovered from hurricane damage pretty well although I understand from others that there's still lots of work to be done around the Island.
