Embarkation – Very smooth. We arrived around 1130 and walked on. Had loaded security photos ahead of time, so no slow down. Okay to go straight to room and cards were waiting at the door in secure package. We were able to drop carry-ons and go enjoy the ship. As usual, rooms were fully ready-to-go at 1 P.M. Cards are now RFID, just tap to device when needed. Have to be careful if you like to punch them for lanyards. RIFD runs around the border, so punch has to deep enough from border to not break the wire. Luggage delivery on the EDGE and Infinity back in October had bags at the rooms very quickly. Most before 3 P.M. and muster drill.
9307 had a little, private hallway to our cabin and 9305 JS on the corner. Very nice cabin. Nice size bathroom and shower, lots of storage spaces. The Infinity cabins are nice, but I’ll stick to a regular veranda. It’s a neat concept, but I think it’s not so great.
The new Celebrity app still needs a lot of work and if you use it, you have to carry your tablet or cell phone around with you. You can use it to open your door, if you want, and can also control TV, lights and AC from. That part works well because it is local in the cabin. Lots of conflicts between ship paper schedule and the what shows in the app schedule. The texting between people in the app needs work too.
Very nice sized cabin. LOTS of storage spaces. Outstanding cabin steward, Miss Rhodora. Nice size bathroom and layout. You have some additional vibration and noise being on the fantail, but that's to be expected. It doesn't bother us for the view aft!
Key West is a favorite port to jsut walk and enjoy the day. My wife loves going for breakfast at a local favorite and getting a slice of genuine Key Lime Pie.
Port is still in the "building up" phase. Nice shore side mall area.
Head to our favorite beach stop at Paradise Beach Club.
