A 40th Birthday Celebration with nearly 20 friends was fun, but could've been a better experience. To be fair, this was my very first cruise, so I have no other cruise ships to compare it to, but I do have a lot of experience traveling as I work in the travel industry. Also, I set my expectation fairly low, and it was about accurate.

The level that our cabin was located on, Floor 6, Upper Deck, smelled like raw sewage for the last 2 full days and had industrial equipment in the hallways, so I was not sure if something happened or if it is just a regular issue with that ship.

Interior Upper/Lower

Cabin 1A

The room was clean, but the decor was really hideous. There was no hot water in the shower so I shivered in the barely room temperature water, with every shower I took. Plus, the bathroom smelled like raw sewage and the water in the bathroom had a funky smell. There was no hair dryer in the room, so I had to call housekeeping to get one. Our assigned housekeeper was very helpful and offered the best service out of any crew member, despite the fact that we declined to have him do a daily service as we were only on a 3 day cruise.

There was no mini-fridge, so we did not get to enjoy the bottle of white wine we brought as there was no way to keep it chilled. The closet had a luggage rack, but it was so small, that no standard sized suitcase could fit horizontally on it.
