MSC Sinfonia is one of the oldest ships MSC has on service. Is a small boat when compared to the others the company has. The ocean view cabin is quite small, and even worst than that, not all the cabins, under the same category, are from the same size! I found out this because I booked two equal rooms and one was bigger than the other, so be careful with that. I considered myself ripped off by being on the smaller cabin, even though I bought the 2 at the same time and within the same category. Moreover it was pretty frustrating to be in a 12 day cruise with a TV that only has 1 movie channel in English and with a hand full of movies that are the repeats themselves over and over again.

The cabin bathroom is normal, in Cruise terms, however the biggest downside of it is that MSC chose a shower curtain instead of a door, hence when you take a bath, be prepared to flood the entire bathroom. There is almost no space to move while showering and the curtain starts to stick to your body when bathing, so you pretty much cannot do anything to avoid it. Also, expect liquid soap.

Dining.... Food in general in this Cruise can only be labeled as extremely awful, with lack of imagination and taste. Definitely the worst food I've ever tried on a cruise. Breakfast doesn't change at all, there is no egg station or any station whatsoever, so you are offered the same things every day. The buffet in general has almost no options available, again, there are no stations of anything, so you have to leave with what is offered in the small buffet. The food on the sitting dinner is very similar to the one provided in the buffet, so is almost as aweful as the other one. In summary, lower your expectations on the food, the whole idea of eating delicious on the Mediterranean, will NOT happen on this boat.

Port Reviews

Rome (Civitavecchia)

The entrance is a bit confusing. You cannot walk to the ship, instead the Port authority will provide shuttles to take you to the boat

Marseille

Well kept Port, however you have to walk a lot just to get out of the Port on your own

Genoa

Is kind of dirty Port but you can walk to the aquarium after a 2km walk

Barcelona

The Port has a Blue bus that charges 2 EUR per person that take you right to the Columbus monument

Malta (Valletta)

Small Port, close to the city center

Catania

Hop-on-hop-off buses were just there to pick up passengers, hence it was very convenient

Katakolon (Olympia)

Quick visit and explanations of the highlights

Crete (Heraklion)

Aweful presentation, place and lack of explanation

Crete (Heraklion)

Extremely bad and boring, and nothing interesting to see
