Background
I am writing this review 2 years later. I was living near the Tampa area and always wanted to go on a cruise, and I figured this was a good opportunity. I took my then girlfriend (now wife) on the cruise. I was well aware that Rhapsody was one of Royal's older ships, so I wasn't expecting the Oasis. A family member dropped us off at the port around 11:30am. We could have used a little guidance in terms of what to do with our luggage, but our bags ended up being small enough to take on board ourselves. We were able to get into our room before 1pm. We then explored, drank, and ate - and I proposed - before the ship left port.
Ship
Like a cheap motel, but what we expected on a ship. We were hardly ever in there. Biggest complaint is that the water didn't get hot.
Took a $5 taxi to a private beach where we got a free shot of tequila and then rented snorkel gear for about $15.
For about $35 per person, we took a small boat to a private island, Goff's Caye. Here, we were treated to free, all you can drink rum punch. There was food served on the island (cheap, but GOOD) - lobster, chicken, etc. Then, the small boat took us a bit off the private island so we could snorkel on the great barrier reef. This day was the highlight of the cruise for my wife and me.
