Why the Ecstasy-

We chose to sail on the Ecstasy because it left out of Charleston, which is about a 3-4 hour drive from us and because it allowed all 5 of us (2 adults and 3 kids) in one room. So, for just $1600ish before gratuities and excursions, we were able to take a 5-night cruise to the Bahamas in January. It also had a sail date that coincided with some days the kids had off from school. I also don't like being cold.

Cabin 4C

The bed was quite comfy, but the place where there would be a window was just a lit up indented space. The ledge was nice on that side of the bed, but a picture might have been nice... The cabin steward cleaned and made our beds each day nicely and made sure we had plenty of towels for 5 (although I had to ask for extra beach towels). However, he didn't put the beds up each day. This was fine as we didn't spend much time in the room, but it would have been nice to be able to sit up in our bed during the day. The bunk bed was over the head of the king bed though. The other pull down bed was on the opposite wall, and a little trundle bed fit under that one. The trundle stayed out during the day as well. Coming in to change for dinner was a bit more challenging with all the beds still down. We learned to do it in shifts. We all slept pretty well, so can't complain too much. We did have more than 5 life jackets in the room, which in a room that small with 5 people was a bit annoying. There was also a chair, stool and table that were just completely in the way with all those beds down. We asked for them to be removed, but they weren't. The blue floor of the bathroom was damaged. It looked like it had been burned by an iron or something. It didn't really affect our stay, just looked and felt weird. The shower worked perfectly and was the perfect temp. I am not even close to a neat freak, but I did feel the need to wipe the place down with a wet wipe upon arrival. The wall "indentation" was quite dusty, and the sink had spit or water stains on it. There was also a blue spot on the sink that made me think it hadn't been cleaned at all, but when I wiped it I found that it was a mouthwash stain that wouldn't come up. The bed ladders squeaked terribly one night, but my husband figured out how to make them stop. I worry that I am making it sound worse than it was. We were prepared for a camping - like situation, so it was fine.
