We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and price. This was our 6th cruise and the first time on MSC line. Getting onto the ship took about 45 min and we were allowed to go to our cabin right away. We were in 12253 which is a balcony/aft/port. Our steward Rubean greeted us right away and asked if we had any special requests. The cabin was clean with a nice size balcony and was serviced twice daily. The service was very good in the Black Crab for dinner and our servers Joebert and Robin were always attentive and efficient. While the food was good, it was not on par with other lines we've sailed on. Dinner was served promptly and never took longer than an hour from start to finish and food was always served hot. Trying to find a seat in the buffet for lunch on sea days was a challenge and dining times in the Black Crab (for lunch) were very limited (12-1:30) and only offered on sea days. The buffet had great fresh salad and fruits. The chilled soups served daily on the fruit bar were really good especially the Watermelon/Coconut. For the most part the Buffet offered the same food daily with minor changes. The servers at the buffet work very hard and clear tables asap. The entertainment in the Theater was really good especially the Tribute to Queen show. To get to the theater, you had to walk through the smokey Casino or go up and around by walking through the narrow cabin hallways. Finding a lounge chair on sea days was next to impossible as they were all"saved" with orange towels tied to them. Apparently everyone goes up early in the AM and grabs a chair for the day. If you are not an early riser, you are out of luck. Also, the bars by the pool get very busy. We read some negative reviews about the Europeans being rude and pushy but we did not find that to be the case. We met some couples from all over Europe that were quite friendly. The "Drinks on us" package was really a bonus. There was a limited selection but we researched and printed out what was included in advance. All you pay for is the 15% gratuity. Staff was good about letting you know what was or wasn't included as well. The running track is very hard to find and not much to speak of but if you go down to deck 7, you can walk either side of the ship with very little traffic. Public areas on the ship were kept clean and hand sanitizer was offered at both the Buffet and main Dining room. We chose "express" disembarkation and that was a total mess! We got down at 7:00 am and the line was all way down to the casino and coming back up the other side. There was no clear (roped off) defined line and people were cutting in front and not bothering to go down into the Casino and up and around.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B1

Our cabin was very spacious and clean. Rubean, our steward was attentive and serviced our room twice daily. Storage is a bit tight especially for an 11 day/night cruise. The balcony was an average size with two chairs. I really enjoyed being on the port side as we both enjoyed the views while sitting on our balconies when the ship was in port. Curacao is beautiful!

Port Reviews

Cozumel

We've been to Cozumel several times so we just shopped for Vanilla and Xtabentun liquor to take back. TIP: Both were actually cheaper at the port than in town. The liquor at the port was $20.00 a bottle and in town, the same size bottle went for $60.00 at the liquor stores. It pays to shop around!
