This was our first time with carnival but our 15th cruise. We thought we would give them a try and liked the look of the Horizon. We were so glad we did. We absolutely loved it! We thought carnival were excellent and the ship was modern and so beautiful.
EMBARKATION was so easy, we arrived at our allocated time and we were on the ship in 10 minutes. We choose an inside CABIN as so cheap and it was surprisingly large, very very clean and had everything we needed. The ship was beautiful, we loved the Atruim, the decor, the modern art, all of it really ! The FOOD was wonderful. Ate in the dining room, buffet, Ji Jis, Mongolian Wok, Pasta Bar, Guys burgers, the Burrito place, Pizza and the smokehouse. All of it was excellent. Jij Jis was our favourite and a must do.
ENTERTAINMENT was very good and there was always something to do. Watched 4 shows and SoulBound and Celestrial Strings were very very good. The cruise director Mike was excellent too. Could never get in to see the comedian as the queue was always massive. Enjoyed watched the piano player Jeffery Munks and some of the others, they were all good. The sky ride was scary, the thrill theatre good (preferred level 2 than 3) and loved watching aqua man on the IMAX.
Quite big for an inside. Had twin beds, plenty of room and storage. Bathroom big enough. Quiet location meant a good sleep.
Lovely beach. Don’t pay for sunbeds, get off the ship early and the blue sunbeds with green umbrellas saying GTCC on it,
Beautiful port. Just wander around the city, no need to do anything else.
Nothing there unless you take an excursion
Beautiful beach. Get off the ship and walk to the beach, no need to take the water taxi folks as only a 15 minute walk. Plenty of options at the beach, we choose Holland House who offered 2 beds, an umbrella, toilets, WiFi and 4 beers for $25. A bit of hassle from ladies offering massages but nothing major.
