This was my second time on the Valor. I was with a group of 20 ladies sailing off for a relaxing 4 day getaway. We had several brand new cruisers and a lot of seasoned cruisers in our group. We got a fog warning text the evening before, and were a bit nervous, but the Valor docked at 4:26am the Thursday morning of our cruise! Had the 1st boarding time of 11:30-noon. The absolute quickest boarding EVER! We were onboard at 11:39! Simply fantastic! Lunch at the lido buffet followed by my first Miami Vice was a great way to start the cruise. Our cabins were ready at 1:30 and we had a great room steward and a nice balcony room on deck 6. The food throughout the cruise was consistently good. Especially Guys Burgers! Get the piggy patty if you haven't had one before. Delicious! We had great weather for entire cruise until early Sunday morning when we hit a squall and it was pretty rough. Thankfully, it calmed down and even the sun came back out after several hours. Got to see the blood moon eclipse the last night from the pool deck. That was impressive! Dining room waiters seemed to have a rough time the first couple of days. They were super friendly, just seemed to be running in circles trying to take care of their section. Crew members are so hardworking and I will never understand how people can treat them so badly. My only complaint was an event held on the first sea day in the middle of the afternoon was completely out of hand (a couple of the judges) and the crew member that was in charge was absolutely NOT in charge and could not handle this one particular judge especially. There were a lot of kids out there and it was completely inappropriate to say the least! On this note - I feel compelled to say this....I have been on 18 cruises now, and have seen large families cruising together celebrating reunions, birthdays, anniversary's and the like. There was a large family on this cruise that was the worst! They took over several different venues on the ship and acted like animals. No regard or respect for other cruisers. It got to the point, that if we were in a particular venue and saw them coming, we got up and left. We just didn't want to deal with their behavior etc...this did not by any means ruin my cruise, I just feel compelled to speak my opinion. I and others heard all around the ship how this group's behavior was affecting people and their families. Just so sad that folks think this type of behavior is the norm these days. Anyway, besides this one family, I met some great people from all over and had a great time with our group as well!
