Myself, my husband, his one sister and her husband, his other sister and my sister and her husband (7 of us in total) decided to take this cruise. We live in New Jersey, so sailing out of Bayonne is very convenient. Also, the price for this cruise was very good. Having sailed on RC and other lines out of Bayonne, we are familiar with the port and feel comfortable cruising from there.

The day finally came and we were all excited. We had a car service pick us up at each of our homes. My husband and I were the last to be picked up and we were on our way. Now, we had each received an email stating that the ship was to be late arriving because of a medical emergency, so we expected a delay. We were right to expect this. The closer we got to the port, the longer the line got. I would say we waited in the traffic at the port for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. No big deal, we were on vacation!! I do wish there was some sort of security policing the road that enters the port to the ship. Most of the cars waited their turn in line, but there were those who cut around, drove up on the shoulder and even those who drove backwards to get to the ship sooner. It was annoying, but didn't ruin our time.

When we finally got to the ship, it was smooth sailing. Our driver dropped us off right at a porter, he took our luggage (we tipped him well) and we walked across the road and into the terminal. After showing our cruise pass and our passport, we walked through the terminal, up the escalator(stairs for me) and right on to the ship. So, by 12:30 we were on vacation!!!

Cabin Review

Ocean View Balcony

Cabin 6D

The cabin is large, there is plenty of closet space and the bathroom is spacious, well, as spacious as you can get in a regular room on a cruise ship.

Some things that are to be noted. There is no chair to sit on, you either have to sit on the bed or on the couch. And, there was no table near the couch, so if you had a drink, you had to put it on the floor. Really missed having a chair!!

The lighting is not good at all. I am used to having a nice reading light over the bed, so I can lie in bed at night and read, the light was over each side of the bed, but it was dim and couldn't be aimed in any direction.

As I stated above, the cabin is spacious and there was more than enough space for all of our belongings.

Now, there has been lots of talk about the air conditioning. It was not working the first 3 days of the cruise. I did mention this to our cabin steward and a maintenance person came to our cabin on the third day and did something and the problem was fixed. So, a few days were uncomfortable, but then it got better.
