We chose this cruise as the weather in the Indian ocean is good at this time of year and the ports of call were new to us. Never having sailed on celebrity before, we had high expectations as it was not a large ship and entertainment reviews were good.

The entertainment was good , as were the helpful cheerful crew, however we were disappointed with the food choice in both the main dining and buffet restaurants - not enough variation . We ended up eating similar meals several evenings. Also lacking is a ship laundry room , you are not permitted to take on travel irons and would have to use their laundry service ( pricey). The drinks packages are extortionate ( unless you want to spend all day and night in the bar drinking ). We didn't have a package but bought as we wanted , and staff in bars and restaurants are obviously instructed to push the drinks packages as we were soon tired of being pestered - similarly pestered to have photos taken , and to eat in the very expensive select restaurants.

On many other ships we have cruised , there have been destination information talks and often maps provided or the local port areas. Not with Celebrity , it was a destination talk only about their shore excursions , so if you don't want those make sure you do your homework before leaving home.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 2

Cabin C2

Cabin 6018 is a standard balcony cabin with double size balcony , view is not restricted and it was great to have the outside space .

Port Reviews

Abu Dhabi

terminal building modern and spacious , though little seating.

Dubai

port is close enough to take a short taxi ride into the city

Muscat

not possible to get to the main town unless bus / taxi ride , but a nice walk along the front and to a souk

Mumbai (Bombay)

took a Heritage walking tour - though most of it was by coach , lovely colonial buildings, and a feel for city.

Kochi (Cochin)

swamped by taxi drivers on leaving the ship , took a private tuk tuk ride and was a very good value tour of the town.

Colombo

took a ship tour to the tea plantation , 4 hours on the coach and a rushed 2 hour tour.

Phuket

took a ship tour again a long drive for a rushed tour

Singapore

stayed 2 nights in hotel , and travelled independently
