We've always wanted to see the areas included in the Rhine River Cruise. We were not disappointed because everything was beautiful. We were fortunate that the weather cooperated all week and were able to spend one lovely afternoon up on the deck as the ship slowly passed by many, many hillside castles. The food was delicious and the staff were fun & friendly. Unfortunately my husband was having some health issues prior to this vacation and Viking provided exceptional accommodations for anyone with "special needs." We never missed out on anything that the other tours saw but we were able to walk around at a slower pace, take ramps & elevators when others used stairs, and even had mini-vans transport us to bus locations when others had to walk there. We were certainly impressed and would highly recommend Viking cruises (we've done their river & ocean itineraries and absolutely loved all of them).
Everything in the cabin was "as described" with no negative surprises. The bathroom was warm & spacious and the bed was very comfortable.
We loved Amsterdam and wished we'd had more time to explore this beautiful city. Taking a canal cruise is the best way to see many of the residential areas and very old architecture. It is worth a taxi ride from the dock to get into the center of town!
