We selected the Freedom for the itinerary. Perhaps I'd set my hopes a bit too high...there was just no WOW factor. Yes, the ship is in obvious need of a refurbishment. Stained carpets on the 10th floor, ripped chairs in the theater, etc... and, yes, there is/was a smell. There were several reminders in the Cruise Compass asking that passengers be kind to the the delicate plumbing. If you are thinking about the Freedom, go after she's been gussied up a bit.

Our cabin, 1544, was great. Our steward, KeneBeath was excellent. The interior of the cabin was neat, well kept, and quite spacious. The balcony had two lounge chairs, two standard chairs and a table. We took our morning coffee on the balcony every day. (the only note is that the room has two outlets only-bring an extension if you can't manage with two)

The itinerary-St. Kitts, Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua and St. Martin. Three new islands for us. We did RCCL excursions on all of the islands, other than St. Martin. Since we'd been there several times, we chose to take the water taxi over to the town and simply walk around, then get back to the ship while most folks were out. The excursions were well done, and our cabin credit paid for them, so no complaints there.
