Since we’d just reached Diamond status on Royal Caribbean, we decided to try something different and Celebrity recognizes our RCCL status as Elite, so we decided to try the Edge. I’d been reading so many mixed reviews, but went with an open mind. It turned out to be one of my favorite vacations of all time.

The ship was gorgeous — sleek and modern — my velvet and brass-loving table mates like the traditional styling better. Oh well. It took a little while to find the perfect hideaways, but with a little reconnaissance we fell in love with the almost-private balcony space on the port/aft by Eden. We used that exterior walkway (by the tenders) to get to the fwd elevators since our cabin was up front.

We participated in a cabin crawl organized by one of our roll call members. She did a great job and we viewed close to a dozen cabins from a Royal Suite to a Deluxe Oceanview to our inside cabin (#11140). A couple of people actually told us that we got the best value for our money. The set up was exactly the same as an infinite veranda, but the room ended with a wall rather than space for the veranda. Since we knew we wanted to explore, and prices were pretty high when we booked, we were thrilled with it. The bedding was super comfy, shower was roomy, and shampoo/shower gel were mounted on the shower wall. While it took a few minutes to understand the lighting, it was cool to click “sleep” and have the lights slowly dim so you could put your phone away. Also there was a soft light glowing from under the bathroom sink for late night bathroom trips. Much appreciated!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Inside Stateroom

Cabin 09

Great location AFT, which was a straight shot to dining rooms, The Club and up to the Solarium and fitness center. Steward was wonderful — Concierge quality for an inside cabin (didn’t get any extra perks because we were in that section).

Port Reviews

Key West

We rented an electric golf cart for under $100 for 4 hours. The sign says 3 or 5 hours but they threw in an extra hour. It was my favorite day in Key West. We saw so much and stayed cool. The company was HydroThunder.
