We enjoyed a 14 day Caribbean cruise (it turned out to be 2, 7-day back to backs) from Ft. Lauderdale for the Christmas and New Years holidays. Overall, an excellent experience.

This was our 13th cruise since we started sailing 8 years ago. We've taken cruises on Carnival (5), Princess (2) and Celebrity (5) in that progression. Our last 5 cruises have been on Celebrity (typically Aqua class which is nice).

We thought Celebrity was very good (but with declining conditions on their Solstice Class ships) and had heard good things about Holland. We were worried that the demographics may be a too old for us (our average age is 55 and we're very active). Since this was a holiday cruise, there was a mix of ages and we had no concerns about demographics. We saw very few motorized scooters and certainly no more than on other ships. Read more
