Sail Date: Dec 2018
Cabin: Aft-View Extended Balcony

3rd time cruising on the Carnival Sunshine, picked this itinerary as it fits our schedules perfectly and we've gotten used to spending Christmas in the warm weather. We had an aft extended balcony cabin on Deck 7. We often ate at the specialty restaurants and also had late dining. Didn't use the buffet, but it looked fine at a passing glance, had a couple of pizzas - they were OK too. Staff were great with the exception of a bartender at the Alchemy Bar (first time I have ever made an official complaint on a cruise ship and this includes all cruise lines we've traveled on). Ports of call were fine, sometimes it's nice to get off the ship and other times it's nice to stay on board. We cruise to relax and somewhat go off the "grid" but there was plenty to do. We managed to entertain ourselves quite nicely throughout the entire cruise - they call them "fun" ships for a reason. Weather was warm, the beverages were cold and the service was excellent - seriously what more could you ask for. We've booked on Carnival Magic for next Christmas.

Cabin Review

Aft-View Extended Balcony

Cabin 8M

Cabin Steward Anka was awesome, everything worked and was in it's appropriate place.

Port Reviews

Grand Turk

Walked around at the port and then got right back on board. Weather was superb and great for sunbathing.

San Juan

It was Christmas Day, we walked up to one of the forts (of course they were closed) took a few photos and walked back through old town stopped for a drink (a nice little wine two) and then headed back to the ship.

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

A bit messy - weather was great but carnival was ongoing and the streets were littered with trash from the activities. Been here before and have plenty of opportunity to tour the sites. I

St. Maarten

Love St. Maarten, caught a taxi over to the French side - still recovering from the hurricane, but glad to see it all coming together.
