As Celebrity loyalists, we couldn't wait to see and experience the Edge. I watched the build online from the beginning, and amid all the concerns seen on CruiseCritic, I have to say Celebrity completely exceeded my expectations. It's like they heard many of the critiques from M and S class ships, and answered many of them, while also creating a whole new experience for their customers.
Our IV C1 room, with bed near veranda, was amazing. We were very near the Magic Carpet, and couldn't even hear it moving. We had more useful storage than any comparable room we've had on the other Celebrity ships. Loved the king size bed, which easily hid all of our luggage, and shoes. The closet, drawers, and shelf storage was more than enough for our cruise. I could also easily see us happy with it on a 14 day cruise, and we bring formal wear. The bathroom was large and extremely well laid out, again with more storage than we needed. This was one of my biggest surprises. Others have said the decor looks cheap, I couldn't disagree more. And we loved the Infinite Veranda, though we never used the bi-fold glass doors, I would rather see them removed.
The ships public spaces are beautiful, and we never waited long for service at any bar. I thought I would miss the ice on the Martini Bar, but I didn't. And the bartenders and waiters made sure we never waited long for drinks, a new experience for us.
I addressed what we loved about the cabin above. Additionally there were plenty of options for charging gadgets/phones, even on each side of the bed. Our attendant was like a magician, making the room immediately during breakfast. We loved the storage, space and bathroom configuration in the room. No complaints.
Lovely catamaran to a great beach, with excellent service from crew.
Beautiful, and very well organized.
The new terminal made embarkation/debarkation very smooth and enjoyable.
