I chose this cruise because RCCL has not sailed from New Orleans in many years. Was very happy to see them back as it is only hours from home. Embarkation went fairly smoothly. They needed more people to manage the seating for priority boarding area. The overall condition of the ship was good. I saw nothing to complain about. I had a balcony cabin (#7028) on port side near the front. Was skeptical at first about the location but it proved to be just fine! There were two of us in the cabin and we had more than enough storage available. Actually we didn't use some of it. I also appreciated that it had a full size sofa, not a short two seater like on other cruise lines. We had a mini fridge which I appreciated very much. The only thing I was not really happy with was the shower - small and the shower curtain had a tendency to stick to you when showering. They should replace the curtain with a shower door. For the most part the food was good but average with the exception of Chops Steakhouse which was very much worth the extra $$ paid. There was always something going on somewhere on the ship. Lots of trivia type games etc. The entertainment was good though I didn't go every night. As far as service was concerned, everywhere - cabin, Windjammer, bars, main dining room - it was exceptional. I have no complaints. We had three ports of call. Nassau, Key West and Miami (supposed to be Coco Cay but there is construction going on there). I didn't get off the ship in Nassau, been there, done that. Key West was a lot of fun with visits to the Hemingway House, Sloppy Joes, and Kermits Key Lime Pie. Not enough time to do it all, must go back! Miami didn't interest me so just went to Bayside Marketplace and shopped and stopped at Bubba Gumps and Tradewinds for drinks and people watching. Bubba Gumps has free wifi of which I partaked. My past 5 cruises have been on NCL (smaller, older ships) which I liked until the last one (bad service). I will definitely be looking to sail again on RCCL, just their smaller ships though. I do not like the mega amusement park ships. I also will not plan another New Years cruise - to many kids on board with parents who did not control them.
