We chose this cruise for two things , first that it covered Christmas and New year, secondly it was going to Cuba.
Flight from Gatwick to Montego Bay was good no problems , arrival was chaotic , wrong forms for immigration given out so had to fill new ones while standing in a long line. Embarkation at port no problem.
Cabin allocated was on deck 2 with a large window. Good size with a sofa lots of storage space, good size bathroom with a shower , just shower gel and soap in there. Lots of hangers in wardrobe and able to hold full length evening dresses so no creases. good size safe , though this one need ed you to use a credit card to open and close it which meant you had to keep card out at all times. Kettle and tea and coffee provided also carafe which meant you could fill this at water stations near lifts meaning that you did not have to buy water. Water is not included in the all inclusive product but is if you upgrade to premium at an extra 99 pounds per person per week. we did not do this as the normal package was adequate.
Cabin Review
Good position near lifts, always kept clean. Jeanette looked after us well.
Lots of storage , bed was comfortable.
Port Reviews
Belize City
Belize has changed a lot in 12 years , wanted to go back to visit the Cathedral and to see if could get into what was the governors house. House still closed to public, cathedral still the same, lovely old doors and chandelier. Met the pastor and his wife lovely couple took a taxi back to port then had rum punch on the dock
Grand Cayman (Georgetown)
Last time we were here just went to 7 mile beach this time took tour round the Island , visiting Hell, also the Dolphins , after this went to a beach then back to ship
Ocho Rios
last time here we went to Dunns river falls, this time went to local beach 16 dollars for entry and two beds. ok but have been to better.
Roatan
Took taxi to west bay spent day on beach as had taken a tour on a previous visit cost 20 dollars per person for taxi plus sunbeams and umbrellas. Lovely clear sea , able to stroll along the beach , lots of beach sellers but would take no for an answer so no problem. On the journey back to ship our driver took us to west end bay , would go there next time good vibes.
Costa Maya
Good port to visit, you do not have to leave the port unless you want to as everything there, sunbeams its , food , drink, shops plus Dolphins to watch and Flamingos. Had some margaritas round the pool plus Nachos all good, glad we stayed there.
Cozumel
Took tours before so just wanted to wander , check emails etc . Good wifi in Starbucks
