I will start by saying that we are seasoned cruisers and are Elite status on Celebrity. We have sailed the Caribbean many times so the ship itself was our destination. Since it was a new ship and our experience on the Soltice Class ships has been exceptional, our expectation was to sail on what we thought was the best new cruise ship in the industry.
As you can read from many of the reviews, the ship and staff just does not deliver. I would avoid this ship until the company figures out how to fix all the issues. That is, if they can.
So what are the Pros and Cons:
Cabin Review
Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom
I will start out by saying that as far as the cabin goes, it was fantastic for a normal ocean view room. The window was big so you could see easily see outside and you could actually sit in the window if you wanted. The room itself was big with plenty of closet space and storage. The bathroom was fantastic with a very large shower. Bed was comfortable and the TV is huge. The room itself was a highlight of the cruise.
Now for service of the room. Never saw or met the room steward until day 3. Just seemed like she was new, slow and really did not rush to take care of the room. In fact on one day, the room was not cleaned until 3:00 PM. From talking with fellow passengers, you should not expect your room to be clean until the afternoon. This is the first time I have seen this happen on any cruise ship we have sailed on. She never left extra toilet paper or anything even though there is a large drawer for such items. We actually ran out of toilet paper twice. I would sum this up with lack of training, supervision or a general lack of staff or concern. I would rate the service as terrible.
