We arrived in Miami the day before the cruise and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn. They offered a free shuttle from the airport and also a $12. per person shuttle to the port. We took Lyft to the port for $17.00 total.
We enjoyed our time on the Getaway but there was nothing really special about anything. One positive was the great diversity of the passengers and officers. The food was ok but never hot and somewhat bland. Even the hand scooped ice cream was bland and no matter what flavor you got, it all tasted like vanilla. We did enjoy Moderno and Cagney's where the food was served hot and well seasoned. Harvest Caye was beautiful but you didn't get the real flavor of Belize. The service was good throughout the ship. The cabin was in an excellent location (10224) and was quiet; however, the location of the closet was inconvenient and awkward. We saw two shows, Burn the Floor and Million Dollar Quartet, and both were really good. Burn the Floor was our favorite.
The embarkation process was the smoothest we've ever experienced but the disembarkation process was unorganized and took quite awhile.
Generally quiet but there were kids running and playing in the hallway. The cabin size was ok but the balcony was so small that you had to turn the chair sideways.
Didn't take any excursions but stayed over night at the Hilton Garden Inn. The offer free shuttle from the airport to the hotel and $12 shuttle to the Port of Miami. We decided to take Lyft and paid $17 total from the hotel to the port.
Beautiffully landscaped environment with large pool and nice beach; however, you really are not experiencing the real Belize.
We've been to Cozumel many times so we just walked around the main street and then went back to the ship.
