We're a couple in our mid-30s, no kids, and chose this itinerary as our first cruise. We were not looking for a "party ship" and Koningsdam was the perfect option for us.
Embarkation seemed slow, several other folks in the line with us complained the terminal at Port Everglades is not equipped to handle the HAL Pinnacle class ships. It took roughly an hour and 20 mins to get through all the lines and onto the ship. We arrived at the port at 1pm.
Ship: Koningsdam is beautiful and we loved that it had recently been in dry dock for some improvements. It felt clean and shiny every day, aside from a few problems with a women's restroom near the Rolling Stone Rock Room one evening. Unfortunately, the pools both felt small and crowded at times, and the Sea View pool is not very pleasant to spend too much time at due to the smokers being out there. We loved spending time in the Crow's Nest reading our books, drinking cocktails, or doing crosswords or Sudoku.
We found this cabin perfectly adequate for us. PLENTY of storage nooks and crannies, and pleasantly surprised to find more than enough hangers in the closet! Very comfortable beds and pillows, and a functional bathroom with very good shower pressure and instant hot water.
