This was only our second time cruising. First time on Royal Caribbean. This was an amazing cruise! Brilliance of the Seas is an older and smaller ship, but it was perfect for us. It was just me and my husband. The ship was clean and very nice. The service on the ship was fabulous! The food was very good. We ate in the Windjammer Cafe, the Minstrel Dining Room and at Chops (twice). I got a really good deal on Chops before we cruised. It was well worth the extra price. Much smaller, more intimate setting for dinner. We were celebrating our anniversary, so we splurged on the premium dining experience. We saw the shows every evening on the cruise. They were really good. The Elvis tribute show was AMAZING!! A must see if you are on this ship. We arrived at the port around 10:30 a.m. and we were on board enjoying a drink by 11:00 a.m. Our cabin was ready and luggage sitting at our cabin door by 1:00 p.m. We had a balcony room, which we really enjoyed. We are looking forward to cruising with Royal Caribbean again in the future.
The only reason I didn't give the cabin 5 stars is because the bed was not comfortable at all. It was very firm, and after 2 nights, mine and hubby's backs were killing us. We spoke with our room steward and he brought some kind of topper and put on our bed. This helped a little, but it was still not as comfortable as we would have liked. We are used to a 3" memory foam topper on our bed at home, so we are a bit spoiled with a comfy bed. The room itself was nice. The balcony was very nice. We enjoyed room service (breakfast) on our balcony 2 different days. That was very nice!
