This was our second cruise on the Golden Princess around New Zealand.
We love the fact the Golden Princess also has an indoor pool which is great for the south island of New Zealand.
We were fortunate and had reasonable weather. The ship is aging but is well looked after. It has undergone refurbishment since we last cruise on her 3 years prior.
We chose an obstructed view window as it was only $100 per person more than a mid ship interior. The cabin was below other staterooms and centrally located. Close by the mid ship elevators but far enough that we had less foot traffic than being right outside them. There were no interior cabins along our section of the ship. Again leading to low foot traffic with only outside staterooms. We had not had a window before only balconies and Interiors. The obstruction wasn't too bad. The stateroom was smaller than I expected. This was due to the walk in wardrobe / dressing area. This takes a large section of the cabin. But once we got used to that idea the cabin was quite comfortable. The cabins are older. Well looked after. This was the largest TV we have had at sea. There was a great selection of movie channels and a Christmas movie channel ran different Christmas movies all day long. The beds and pillows were ok.
