We chose this cruise as we thought it would be a more relaxing way to travel to the North & South Islands of New Zealand. We picked up the ship at Auckland after a two night at the Rydges Hotel. A very nice city.

There were very large queues on embarkation & although we were advised it could take two hours before we got on board our queue moved quite quickly. The organisation did seem a bit haphazard with some queues moving quickly while others seemed to move at a snails pace, You were just lucky if you were in a fast moving queue. We were impressed with the ship & although we had an inside cabin, it was a very good size compared to other cruise lines we had been on.

We were happy with all our ports of call, although we found some more interesting than others. The scenery was fantastic, the highlight of which was our last day in New Zealand. It was an at sea day sailing around the Dusky, Doubtful & Milford Sounds. The scenery in this area was stunning, it certainly had the Wow factor.

Cabin Review

Inside Stateroom 9

The stateroom was a reasonable size for an inside cabin with plenty of cupboard space. The shower room/toilet was very compact but suited its purpose. We encountered no problems.

Port Reviews

Napier

Although Napier is a very small town, we enjoyed our visit there. It is interesting because it has some nice Art Deco buildings & shops. The people there were very friendly & helpful. We prefered it to some of the busier cities.

Dunedin

Some nice older buildings including a lovely train station, but didn' t find much else to interest us here.

Sydney (Australia)

Stayed two nights & visited some of Sidneys local sights including The Rocks, Darwin Harbour, the Botanical gardens, crossing Sisney Bridge % Bondi Beach.
