We take NCL cruises out of NY for the convenience of not flying to the port. Escape felt bigger and even more crowded than Breakaway of the previous year. The ship looked very clean, and the crew, I think, did their very best. Embarkation and disembarkation- surprisingly organized and relatively quick.
We had midship mini-suit - it's a little bigger than regular balcony, and the shower with jets was a very nice addition. Our steward provided unobtrusive and efficient service. No complaints here.
Dining - food was OK, hit and miss generally. We did not use special restaurants. Breakfast in the Garden buffet was satisfactory, but not a great variety. Lunch in one of those, Taste or Savor, took so long to arrive, and the soup was cold, that we just started going to buffet or O'Shehans from then on. Dinners were good in Manhattan, again, much better than Taste or Savor. Desserts were very excellent most of the time.
The cabin had enough space, storage and otherwise. Nice shower. Very clean. The only thing - with the wind, waves and speed, it was creaking and moaning all through the night.
Excursion from the ship to Belize spice farm. Interesting place and informative tour, just not enough time on the farm considering time spent to get there - 30 minutes very slow ride on the ferry plus an hour on the bus one way.
Other people in the party stayed in Harvest caye and used the beach which was nice. Pool - too crowded.
Took a taxi for $6/pp each way to the beach - great beach and nice day.
