This was our 2nd Viking Cruise...the prior one was on the Danube. We wanted to see new/different part of the country so chose the Rhine from Basel to Amsterdam. The ship was brand new and really lovely. Rooms were comfortable and very well appointed, with very comfortable beds and heated bathroom floors!! The lounges are very nice and the service is beyond belief. All meals are excellant and servers are extremely attentive. I would rate Viking as one of the very best in the business...including service, coordination, cuisine, flight arrangements, transfers...you name it, and it was exceedingly well done. We traveled with friends and made new friends along the way. If you want to see more castles along the river, we commend the Danube. The Rhine is much wider, and more commercially travelled. WE are going on our 3rd in the spring and know it will be just as excellant as the last 2!
