We booked an 11 night Southern Carrib on the Dawn a year in advance. Price could not be beat and we had the Drinks package, Dining package, $100 per port shore credits and internet and calling home from out room. Internet worked ok after hearing horror stories. We just knew not to do more than basic stuff.
The specialty dining was a godsend because we have noticed h big drop in quality in the main dining room. There were three of us and every night one of us was dissappointed. We did Cagneys, Le Bistro and the Italian rest and Bamboo one night. Food was terrific but no more choices in Cagneys except Filet Mignon and Tbone. Nothing else available the whole cruise.
We had a handicapped balcony cabin on deck 9 aft. 9708 and everything was fine. Good cabin steward and room and balcony were fine. Beds seemed better than our last three times on the Dawn. Last two rooms we had were uncomfortable at best.
Handicapped balcony on deck 9 aft. Cabin very clean on arrival but balcony windows were filthy. I knew this would be the case and cleaned them the way we like them. Good cabin steward and lots of towel animals during the cruise.
Stayed near the port at Sheraton Convention Center. Hotel clean but rooms need new mattresses and none of the furniture at the pool area had the cushions and they were the large wicker chairs and couches so that was a joke. Food at the hotel very expensive so we ate nearby. Stayed another two nights after cruise at San Juan Water and Beach Club on Isla Verdi beach. Excellent location and nice rooms ,
