This was the first time we sailed on the MSC line. We were pleasantly surprised as we had heard many negative reviews from Americans but the ship and this journey exceeded our expectations.
The itinerary was what we were looking for and stops we had not been to before including Malta, Greece and Genoa .
The ports were great each one had its own beauty and history. The only port that was a bit disappointing was Corfu but primarily a beach spot we visited it in the beginning of winter and in the late day.
The ship was impeccable and truly elegant and sophisticated. The entertainment was varied from fun and dancing to classical opera with some cirque de soleil type acts as well.
The food was good basic but could always find something to eat and options were offered if you were not happy.
The dining service was great in the dining room. The waiters couldn’t be more accommodating and even had a special American thanksgiving menu brought to us on Thanksgiving although it wasn’t on the menu. The embarking and disembarking was smooth and never had to wait long. The drink package was great and the internet worked fairly well.
The only complaint was the tv selection in room. We would have liked something beside CNN news all the time. In addition the laundry package was strange as it was only offered up to the third day and we didntvhavecsooled clithes by then.
The spa was also pleasant and we enjoyed some services and the gym was also very clean and machines were plentiful. We did plan our own tours as we are not fans of large group bus tours but the tours and procedures seemed efficient. Everything overall was a nine out of ten.
