Cruisers included DH and myself (mid-50's), our daughter (late 20's), and my mother-in-law (mid-80's). DH and I have cruised on Carnival and NCL, MIL has cruised on Celebrity, daughter had never cruised before. We chose this cruise mainly for itinerary (California Coastal) since daughter had never been to California, and we thought it would be good for all generations.

MDR - We had anytime dining. We never had to wait for a table and found both food and service to be the best we have had. One exception may be that MIL didn't care for the lobster on formal night. Daughter is a picky eater and never had trouble finding something to eat.

Buffet - I was less impressed with the buffet than other cruise lines. Food seemed to all be in one small congested area. A lot of options didn't look very appealing. Never saw eggs benedict for breakfast, but I did like being able to serve myself bacon, and found it crisp rather than soggy. Drink options were very limited (water, coffee, or tea and OJ at breakfast), and I prefer to help myself rather than wait for a waiter to bring me a drink. The grill and pizza were a better choice for lunch than the buffet.
