This cruise left out of Cape Canaveral. We arrived on time for our 11:30 am "appointment time" and embarkation went very smoothly, in fact the the smoothest I've experienced. We were on the boat in no time and found a seat on the deck on the opposite side of BBQ place. We got a few drinks from the nearby bar and some excellent BBQ and relaxed there until our cabin was ready around 1:30 pm.

We had second floor port hole cabin # 2216. The cabin was clean and much larger than I was expecting. The water we ordered was in the room when we arrived, our gold status VIFP water and pin came the following day. The VIFP drink vouchers that were in our room had someone else's name on them but the correct cabin number causing us to briefly think we were in the wrong room LOL and considering we had already unpacked most of our stuff it was a brief moment of panic haha. The vouchers turned out to be incorrect and we received new ones a day or two later.

The boat is large and was in over all good condition.

Cabin PT

My husband and I were looking for a short getaway (without the kids :) for the two of us and we came upon this cruise at a really good price. We had separate beds as it was a porthole cabin but the room was much larger than I thought it was going to be and we had a lot of extra space. The room was clean and had all the usual amenities like a fridge, safe, tv, and hairdryer. The water pressure in the shower was impressive and there was plenty of hot water.

The only negative we had was the beds were not great, I had the regular mattress and it seemed a bit old and tired and I would wake up sore in the middle of the night and in the morning. The sofa bed was hard as a rock at first but the room attendant put one and then an second mattress topper and it made that bed much more comfortable.

The rooms location was excellent! It was easy to get to and from the disembarking and reembarking at the ports, the dining room was only one floor above as was the theater which meant no need to wait for elevators a lot of the time. The room was in a quiet location with no noise from the theater. You could hear a bit of noise when the boat was docking but that was about it.

I would definitely stay in this room again if I was back on this boat!

Port Reviews

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

We did the Carnival ATV and beach excursion at this port. The ride to and from the excursion was a in an open air truck, it was a bit bumpy but fine. The ATV's were fun but a lot of the ATV's were old and in poor condition causing them to breakdown often making the whole group have to stop and wait. Definitely not enough beach time, by the time you make down to the beach, get a drink and get in the water it's time to get right back out and get changed to go. We brought cereal boxes from the boat as there was no food included in this excursion.

San Juan

We love walking around this old city. There is so much to see and even with 3 cruise ships in port it didn't seem crowded. Old San Juan is completely walk-able and for those with mobility issues or small children there is a free pubic bus to take you around to all the main sites.

Grand Turk

The snorkeling tour was canceled due to rough seas and so we rented and ATV for $80 and rode around the island which was really fun as well. We have done the exact snorkel excursion we booked on this trip on a previous cruise and it was excellent.
