Sail Date: Nov 2018
Cabin: Balcony

We sailed on the Carnival Conquest from November 18 through November 24th.We choose this cruise because we wanted to do something different for Thanksgiving and to celebrate couple of birthdays. The ship was a little dated and a bit overcrowded. Let not talk about the sewage smell, it was unbearable at time. We won't do another holiday type cruise. The embarkment went smoothly. Once on the ship we went to our room to get our Sail and Sign Cards, then off to explore the ship. We got something to eat and enjoyed some time in the arcade area. The muster drill was unorganized and the sail away was uneventful. The cabin steward was excellent. The dining experience was ok. One morning we decided to have breakfast in the main dining room. Service was slow and the food was better on the Lido Deck. However, that dining experience gave us a good opportunity to meet some nice people. Ports and Shore excursions were great; ATV in Grand Turks was great and informative. Ziplining in Amber Cove was fun. The Disembarkation was unorganized and chaotic.

Summary: We had a wonderful time take another cruise with Carnival but on a newer ship and not a holiday cruise.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8B

The cabin was standard balcony room. However, didn't really get to enjoy the balcony as often as I would have liked due to the marijuana and cigarette smoke. Cabin Steward was excellent and very attentive.

Port Reviews

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

Ziplining was great.
