The itinerary of 60 days from LA to LA, beginning in Alaska, going through Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Guam , and finishing up in Hawaii before heading back to LA was the big draw. However, the many operational calamities that befell the ship took away much of the shine of the trip. Two skipped ports, one from not having ordered a fuel barge, very poor communication to the passengers - more like last minute surprises, immigration catastrophes, running out of food items, burst pipes drenching cabins, loss of internet service for days, mediocre entertainment offerings, the list goes on. While Princess tried to maintain a happy face, many passengers were unhappy, vowing never to sail Princess again. The Coral has many sea days behind her, and her age is definitely showing. I believe a trip to dry dock for renovations is on her calendar, and none too soon. Embarkation and disembarkation were Princess smooth. The cabin was as expected, although I hope new mattresses are planned for her. Sleep was not comfortable due to terrible mattresses, and 60 nights is a long time to sleep on a bad mattress. The food was ok but repetitive; but not surprising for a cruise of 60 days. Service was very good. Ship excursions remain expensive and heavily booked, many with filled with people with limited mobility issues who neglected to acknowledge warnings about activity levels and steps/climbing warnings, and who came with their scooters anyway, expecting to be accommodated. The ports we visited were wonders to see. We only wish we could have also seen the omitted ports The enrichment speakers were below average save one, Chris Impey who is a marvelous speaker and who was enlightening and entertaining. Humberto, the port lecturer left much to be desired. His talks were rambling and filled with confusing information, such that one had to stand in line to speak with him at his desk for much clarification. Overall, the trip itself was one to remember. The Coral was ok if great things were not expected; it was transportation. Will we sail with Princess again? Yes, as many other cruise lines face similar issues.

Good location. Close to the elevators, but remained very quiet. Easy to get to from public rooms on decks 6 and 7 if something was forgotten. Yes, it is aft and dining options are forward. But it is a reasonably sized ship and the walk going to and from forward locations was not excessive. Nice, large covered balcony with foot rests.
