I chose this cruise because it was going where I wanted to go at the time I wanted to go. I cruised on the Crown Princess from Rome to Ft. Lauderdale. My friend and I had a balcony cabin on the Baja deck. I found the balcony cabin to be smaller than other cruise lines I have traveled on. The beds were in twin position and were hardly separated enough to walk between. There was no sofa and there was only one chair in the cabin. Storage was ok. Felt we had plenty of closet and clothes storage for our things. The shower was a bit small, but worked ok. Dining was give or take. I had heard the food was not up to par and I think I would have to agree with the comments. Entertainment by the crew was great, the entertainment in the Princess theater, was meh. There were a few activities, progressive trivia was fun and we met many new and great people on our cruise. Service was great from the bars and others. I had a problem with our steward, cannot prove it, but had some money missing 278 EU. I have to blame myself for not making sure it was in the safe, but it disappeared some how and I don't think anyone else could have entered our cabin. I reported it to guest services and security. They came and did a search of our cabin, but no mention of replacing the missing EU. He did keep our room neat and clean and always made sure we had plenty of ice. Unfortunately we incurred some pretty rough seas and we were not able to see Geona. But Livorna was the replacement port and it was a fun day. We did not do any shore excursions through the ship, so I cannot comment on them, but the private tours we did were great at Toulon and Barcelona. The cruisers were definitely an older age than I am used to, when we debarked from Rome there were only about 9 people on the deck for the sail away party, but it was all in all a good trip. I am a travel agent so since I completed all their training I did get to travel as an Elite passenger. They certainly treat their Elite passengers special, with special happy hour snacks each night, but no break on the cocktails. No more two for one and it is now held in the Fuzion bar instead of the other one. We had a mini bar setup and an invite to a wine tasting while at sea. I would have to say the wine selection on the ship was not the best and the price for bottles of wine was more than I expected to pay for the brands they offered. I will cruise Princess again, but will probably try another destination.
