We usually go on this cruise every year. We know the ship, could see some new things that have been upgraded, so that a was nice. Fake grass around the neptune pool and the Mix bar and Salty Dog were upgraded too. New tellys in the cabins was a nice feature too. The food however, it's not as good as it used to be. The horizon cafe, the food is the same more or less every night. And it's cold. The fish was dried up and had been there for ages. The main dinning room food was not very good either. Boring selections, but then I'm a vegetarian so maybe that's why but my husband and son aren't and they said the meat dishes were not that good. However, the staff are great as always. Overall Princess is going down a little, the food is blah, but the staff are always kind and caring.
We had two min suite cabins. Dolphin 304 which is a handicapped accessible one, great for our daughter in her own wheelchair, plenty of room. The sofa bed was a little hard but our cabin steward, Lector, put mattress pads to make it softer. Our bed was horrible, really hard, we had terrible back ache. Televisions are new and big and more choice of things to watch. A bit more LoveBoat would have been great instead of the same 4 or 5! Cabins are kept spotlessly clean.
You can walk outside the terminal and hire for about $20 per hour, a driver driven buggy to take you all over the place and sight see. Lovely place to visit.
We always go to the beach in the romantic zone. If you get a taxi to the Blue Shrimp you can have sunbeds and shade and waiter service on the beach. You are near the gorgeous church of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Well worth a visit, even just to look at the crown on top. There is also a nice Naval museum that is very interesting to visit on the beach just across the road. Plenty to do and see on your own here.
